I recently got a catalog from ultrafine, I think in the past they used Ilford as film manufacturer, and that supposedly it is something else now. Can someone share their recent experiences with this brand?

I don't have experience with thier house brand B&W films; I am happy with their graphics arts film, and their customer service for neg files, and dry mount tissue, and bulk colour film that I have bought from them in the past. I have also bought houise brand RA-4 print paper, but have yet to try it out.

If ordering from outside of the USA, you email them, asking what shipping will cost, and if the reply suits you, you send them payment, and wait a few weeks. All arrives well packed in my experience.

I bought some ISO 100 120 film from them two years ago which turned out to be Shanghai GP3. As noted elsewhere in this and other forums it curls like crazy and the numbers on the backing paper are nearly impossible to read through the red window. Also I had some rolls of GP3 (possibly purchased from a different supplier) where the film was not positioned correctly on the backing paper resulting in loss of the first frame.

On the other hand, this film works very well with Diafine, shot at box speed.

I have no experience with their other films.

thank you for the replies, I used them long time ago, back then they had some Agfa 100 and 400, and I liked the price and service, but reading about the changes of the ultra film line, wanted to get more information.
