I recently acquired several rolls of various out-of date film from a fellow APUG subsciber. Shot and developed a roll of the twelve year old Tri-X today.

Rated the film at EI320.
Developed in HC-110(b): 8mins @19 degrees C (per the instruction sheet in the box!)

Am very pleased to report that the negs all look ok!

Thanks Rick!

That's great! Let's hope the other films have held up as well as the Tri-X.

I have found Xtol to be good with old film as the base fog seems low. D23 is also good

Just finished dev'ing another roll. This time I read the fine print in the HC-110 data sheet. Seems the numbers in the table are for diffusion enlarger. Need to reduce dev time by 30% for condenser. Today's roll was rated at EI400 and got 5.5 mins in HC-110(B) at 19 degrees C. The negs are drying now but look much better.

As pointed out in another thread today, Tri-X is pretty good stuff - eh?

I have read somewhere (?) that Tri-X is particularly good as far as aging is concerned. I don't know about the new version; it might not be as good.
