Scroll down a bit to:

Vivian Maier story on Chicago Tonight.

The story is about her and the young man who is preserving her work.

I saw this a little bit ago. I'm speechless. 100,000 negatives? And they're astounding photographs too! This is an amazing find, and incredibly encouraging too.

The more I know about Vivian Maier and her work, the more I'm excited and inspired. I wish I could be in Chicago these days. And the exhibit is FREE!

The tv story is on Youtube now and is certainly worth a look.

Maybe you heard this story:

Gary Winogrand died in 1984 at age 56. He left behind nearly 300,000 unedited images, and more than 2,500 undeveloped rolls of film. Some of these images have been exhibited posthumously and published in an exhibit catalog entitled Winogrand, Figments from the Real World, published by MoMA.

Which is again proof of the cynical theory that the most important thing to do to become a world famous photographer is to die.

That reminds me that I have hundreds of films even without a contact sheet...
