Hello,

Just to satisfy my curiosity : the lensboard supplied with my old 7x17" Korona has a slight hand written pencil mark "T Reich 7x17". So I guess the lens mounted on this lensboard was a Turner Reich (Sherlock H would not have said it better !). The diameter of the metal thread is approx. 62 mm. Which Turner Reich lens (I've never used one of these lenses and know nothing about them) could fit the camera with enough angle to cover the format ? When I bought the camera one year ago, the rear rail was missing, but of course I don't know if a former owner used this rail, or only used the camera with short extension.

Thank you.

Jimmy

Most of the Turner Reich Anastigmats were the Series II. They were produced in the following cell lengths and apertures:
6-1/4 /11/14 f6.8
7-1/2 /12/18 f6.8
8-1/2 /14/20 f6.8
12/21/28 f6.8
14/17/21 f6.8
15/24/36 f7.5

While the couplet was fairly wide angle, either single cell will provide much wider coverage. That said, the first three on the list would probably barely cover 8x10, let alone 7x17. The 14 in. cell, used alone would cover.
Either the 14 or the 15 in. couplet would cover 7x17, but neither would be usable as single cells without the addition of the rear rail.
The final clue is the flange size. Knowing this, you should be able to contact any TRA owner and find out what size the rear flange is. Then QED.
