Want to Buy Tungsten film - 35mm & 4x5" and 85 conversion filter.

Howdy everyone,

I'm looking to stock up on some tungsten film, because.... well, it's awesome stuff. I'd also like a 55mm or 58mm 85 filter so it can be used in daylight as well.

35mm & 4x5" only please... and I'm particularly interested in 4x5".

I'm looking for ohhh, let's say a brick in total, and it doesn't have to be from one person or of the same brand. Indeed, I'd love to get a hodge podge from all different people, so if you've only got one roll sitting in your freezer, that's ok. And I probably don't need 50 sheets of 4x5"; preferably in the low double digits.

Let me know what you have and what price you'd like. I admit, I'm looking for deals here. I can't afford to spend much, but I'm ok with outdated film if it's been stored well. Trans or neg ok. (yes, they made negative tungsten!)

And for what it's worth, I subscribed to APUG so I could finally buy and sell here!

Hi Holm,

I will check the freezer this evening,
when I get back home. There is some
Ektachrome Tungy in there somewhere.
Definitely expired but frozen for years.
I think I even have a Hoya 85, but it
would be an 82mm., if you don't mind
using some rings on it. Will check, and
a PM later this evening.

Hmm, well I've never used Quickloads, and I only have normal 4x5" sheet film holders. I'm not even sure how quickloads work, but if I have to buy another holder I think I shall pass. Thank you though

bump.... still looking for some 35mm tungsten and I'd take more 4x5". Make an offer!

I presume you are talking C-41. Abe Vinegar, from the Detroit area shows up at the Toronto area camera shows quite regularly, and always has a pretty health stack of out dated 4x5, 120/220 and 35mm going for a reasonable price.

It is mostly E-6,then C-41 specials that I buy and play with. Some is regular E-6, some is c-41, some is special purpose -like E-6 dupe stock and C-41 interneg stock. All are tons of fun ways to make images with. Some is T rated. All that he does not have usually is straight B&W film.

I have about 16 Ekta 64T 35mm rolls left that I have been using up shooting my family vacations with. Mostly because I am out in daytime and the EI50 with the warming filter can be tolerated in terms of staying handheld when necessary. Then when in an incandescant situation, the speed loss with the filter off is so much less that shooting daylight and adding cool filtering for shooting it under tunsten.

Are you open to selling any of your Ekta 64T Mike? I agree with your statement about speed loss & filtration. In fact, it seems that most people would benefit from tungsten film when outside for the very reason you stated. I mean, outside you're always going to have a surplus of light, so filtration isn't a problem, but filtering to balance indoor light just doesn't make sense.
