The technical grade is readily available where I live.

The solid form when immersed in 40% ethanol and consumed in several dosages over an evening has been known to cause severe headaches and nausea. Best information is that it is caused by the levorotatory needle like crystals of DHMO(solid ) that seemed to be formed in the ethanol solution.
Watch out for this!

We extract it from the soil here, but impurity levels are high. For any serious work, I purchase from a local supplier.

Actually DHMO IS POISONOUS when consumed in large quantities. People who over hydrate can wind up in the intensive care ward with a condition called hyponatremia whjich can be life threatening..

i know some of you folks use a variety of chemistry,
here is the MSDS sheet for it.
have any of you used it before? and should i really be as worried as the sheet suggests ?
thanks!

Yes, you should be worried. Each year, DHMO kills more people than cyanide and arsenic combined. And as this blog post points out, the solid form can be used to create a binary explosive with Dioxygen Difluoride:

DHMO dangerous? You bet! Rumour has it that the American navy has secretly spent billions researching its military uses.

There is quite a lot of it falling out of the sky at the moment here.
Fortunately, it is in liquid form.

Be careful bdial and try not to expose yourself to much, here in Southern California its very rare for the stuff to sweat out of the sky.

I know, used to live in the high desert (Ridgecrest). When we moved east, the first few rainstorms seemed downright bizarre.

We used that process in many of our formulas at EK. It was one of our secret methods of addition.

All studies on product development and production at Kodak Park likely have to be revised now...

Maybe Kodak Alaris will offer an "Eco"-developer based on this process.
