Hello friends,

today I managed to make an appropriate lensboard to my Speed Graphic, allowing Trioplan 210/3.5 to be installed. It's a big lens, making a good impression , with perfect round aperture, coated. I am impressed by the picture a simple triplet can give - it's not apparently too contrasty, but the plasticity and bokeh are quite good for portraits. So, did anyone use this lens, and if yes, wht can you tell about it?

Cheers,
Zhenya

That's a Meyer, isn't it?

No, I haven't used one. I don't even own one! But I believe they were quite good, although inevitably soft at full aperture. But I might be wrong, I'm 500km away from my reference library...

Yes, a Meyer-Goerlitz, Vergutet  Soft at full speed, exactly - but almost any rapid triplet should be soft at full?

I had a 210/3.5 Trioplan and found it to be a respectably sharp lens. At f/3.5 it was as sharp as a 210/3.5 Xenar. Open wide it covered 4x5, stopped down it covered 5x7 with a minimum of movements. They make, as you write, excellent portrait lenses. Enjoy!
