Are Slik tripods no good?

Used to have one, got rid of it when I bought my Gitzo back in 1981 I think.
The Gitzo survived pretty well everything and I still use it.
For D these day's I bought a 055 from Manfrotto.........

Have traveled all over the world with my Gitzo carbon fiber 1227 with a Gitzo 1376M head. Has not been babied, and it has never failed to operate flawlessly. Expensive, but worth every penny.

I'm looking at the Feisol 3401 tripod and the max load is something like 19 lb.'s, is that true? I like the weight and the folded length, where is the best place to get one, I see that you can order directly from the Feisol, is there any price discount from a US dealer? I would like to use a 4x5 field and an RB67 is the height adequate?

I have a Manfrotto 6400 Tripod and I hang my bag over the top of the center post under the head to add extra stability when I have my RB67 mounted.

Does anyone have one of these? :D
They have a nice product line.
