Transported (Linda McCartney's Sixties)

I went to see Linda McCartney's "Sixties Portrait of an Era" exhibit today. Watched a fortyfive minute video and looked at the photographs. The exhibit is absolutely amazing. She was an incredible photographer.

I purchased her book on the way out and I am sitting here reading it and looking at the photographs and found myself totally absorbed in it. Transported from my normal thoughts to a total focus on the text and pictures.

I never really thought a lot of her work and figured it was largely due to connections. Quite the opposite is true. She established herself as a prominent photographer long before meeting Paul. Her last name was Eastman and contrary to what most think, she was not in any way related to Kodak.

If you have an opportunity to see the exhibit and read the book I would encourage you to do so.

I saw this exhibit last summer and it was very good. Did you notice that some of the images were platinum? Like the portrait of Jimi Hendrix? I too, came away with a whole different outlook on her photography.

Yes, I did notice the platinum prints. They are very nice.

I saw her exhibit last summer. Though nice work and fun to see, she didn't show me anything I didn't already know. Many shots reminded me of the type of work in People Magazine. They were great prints.

But was People magazine around in the 60's when she was doing her work?
