It is a big move. Like moving from Accordion to Grand Piano. Im not sure if much or anything will carry over other than the color of the keys.

If you're wanting to take pictures, there's no reason to make movies. You will need either a projector or editor to see them and not
be able to examine them as you can a still image. Keep in mind movie film will have 8mm or 16mm images and be typically 50 feet long.

Automatic cameras will need a battery to work in auto but some will work without batteries in manual. One camera that will work without
batteries in manual but needs them in auto is Canon Glll. It is a rangefinder camera and uses a discontinued, uncommon battery.
