Want to trade for or, an outright donation of a Hasselblad Tele Tessar 500mm or 350mm with an intact tripod tube and lens mounting plate.

I've just received a 500mm Tele Tessar T* lens in good shape but need the camera mounting plate and any connectors from the tripod mount tube to get it working in my 'bag'.

I believe the back plate of the 350mm will be the same as what I need and it will no matter if the lens is a simple C or C T*.

If there are any CM versions, that would also givee what I need.

Cheers to All and Happy Thanksgiving next week!

World of Used Photography in Columbus Ohio has two 500mm's Non-T* in their Blad showcase, $750 each.

Personally I have found this is a tough lens to own. Nobody I know of has the special Hasselblad tools needed to do the proper correct CLA. Three times I have purchased one really really cheaply, then each time returned without any real viable option. I prefer to use my 350mm f5.6 black Non-T* Tele-Tessar which I have handheld even at rock concerts. The 500mm I have not been able to handhold, I consider it a tripod-only lens. Eventually I will find a good working one, but no hurries and no worries. I doubt coating this lens will make a whit's bit of difference in the results for me. I still want a good one too, eventually. With a good tripod connection LOL

The Hasselblad 500mm lenses are not practical for hand hold photography. The swing weight and inability of hold steady enough for longer than 1/500 second consistently force the issue. Short of resting the lens on an appropriate rock, the tripod is a practical requirement. I have a quick release tripod plate dedicated to that lens.

Is this similar to the Wanted $10 Leica?

No, this is a call/ask for the parts I need to put my 'for repair' 500mm Tele Tessar T* in working order.

It is possible that someone might offer one up for shipping, I'm no holding my breath, but it might be a trade is needed to make it happen.

If this troubles you in any way, avert your browser to other headers, please.

I'm checking with the developer now. Have you tried replying with a quote, or were you making a non-quoted post? Thanks

I tried both, thinking the hangup was the quoted post.

Thanks.

One more bump for this ask/request.

Godspeed this Holiday Season, we'll all have a great time and New Years, whenever you happen to celebrate it! , 😀

This one came to me cheaply from Budapest. Even had the original case. Shutter is useable, after four different seperate tries.

  1. This is the first test of the 500mm F8 Oberkochen Opton Hasselblad lens. EL/M Body with Olde Hasselblad CDS Meter Prism indicated EV14.5. Set that on the lens, this is the result. Hasselblad CFV16 Digital Back set to Ei 200, camera/lens mounted on a Plaubel Peco 2 Way Head, attached to sturdy Manfrotto legs. The pretty new Magnolia tree is our yard was blowing visibly, the 500mm shutter seems to have frozen it, there was a lot of leaf movment in the breeze. It is fun to play with the new digital back and I am loving the saturated colors I'm getting. Hasselblad says it's the fat pixels, but also how much space is around each pixel. Anyways I'm loving the color right out of the camera. Shooting distance was 28 feet, the absolute minimum focus distance on the lens. So I will add extension tubes if needed.

Do you mean you repaired it 4 times or it worked after exercising it? I do not fully understood. Do these 500s have troublesome shutters?

Three times I bought units (twice from KEH) once locally, unable to repair. This fourth new to me one is firing good at fast speeds. Since it can only be used on a tripod, as long as it stops the action, I'm good with it. David Odess told me he did not have the special Hasselblad tools to work on this one. KEH said "Yeh Yeh Yeh" we can fix it. Then after they got it back (twice), they -couldn't- fix it.

I suspect many of these olde 500's have been stored a long time without exercise. Finally lucked out and I do love the lens for telescopics with Blad. Also I do own the Shoulder Stock, which fits the 350mm, as well as the 500mm.

Good looking results, thanks for posting!

You're welcome Eli. Good luck with your search.

One thing I have added, is a Kenko 86mm Polarizer. Good for darkening skies and removing reflections, using the 350mm and the 500mm Blad lenses. For film and digital.

Cheers, I'll keep that in mind.

By the way, has anyone found 86mm ND filters useful on this lens?
