I have some questions regarding the VX125 I acquired last night. The seller was unable to answer these, so I'm hoping someone here will.
This item appears to be a quick release of some kind. It says the max weight is 6.5 pounds. Is this sufficient for this camera? Is this an OEM component that comes with the VX125?
Second question: this came with the camera. I don't read Japanese--anyone know what this is and what it's for?
Last question-- The camera came with this Fujifilm holder. I assume film usable in this holder is no longer available from Fujifilm (or anyone else)?
The stroboframe quick release in good but not for the vx, up to a light 4x5 field camera( crown graphic)
The second thing is a shutter retaining ring wrench (locknut)
Readyload film was nice, no dust
That is the correct quick release for the VX125, IIRC the dovetail of the telescoping rail slips in and displaces the red tabs and hence locking. I've also seen people modify the dovetail itself to fit directly into an arca swiss clamp.
The Quickload sleeve system was sure nice, but finding film for it any more is getting harder and harder, and it would be quite outdated anyway. You can also use single-sided Kodak Readyload sleeves in it, likewise discontinued quite awhile back.
