My outside lights turned on for a few minutes…!It was only 49% in my village. Zero’d the meter at “totality” and measured again when the partial eclipse was over.
Beautiful here, I was changing out my snow tires. Robins were chirping like they do at dusk.![]()
How wonderful.
My favorite memory of the 2017 one is the indescribable beauty of the light right before and after. The temperature change and the wildlife reactions were awesome to experience too. Such an awesome experience to have!
Here in Jonesboro GA - just south of Atlanta - we had about 85% of totality. The reduction in brightness was noticeable, but the birds continued to sing. The temperature before the eclipse had been 74F, just after "totality" it was 70F, a quite perceptible drop. Too bad its 20 years until the next total eclipse in the US.....

Those are called prominences at 3:30 an 6:00, including the loop from a Plasma Flare.
