I was born there .
And until the Canucks entered the league, the Maple Leafs were my favourite team.:D
Welcome to Photrio.

Incredible -I went to high school in Vancouver!

I was just in Bella Coola, BC, early this year (pre-COVID).

I was born there as well, but I've lived in California for the past twenty years.

Welcome to Photrio!

You'd need to check with Bob Carnie about that one :D

I have been to Toronto first in the days when Henry's was a great store, never saw anything like it here in the UK, and later on another stop over on the way to Calgary met up there with Bob. Cheeky as he assumed I was a lot older than him not a lot younger (well a month or two).

Next I'll know Bob will want the formula for Torontol :D

I thought there was a new developer Torontol from the title, :D

Ian
If there was, you would find it at the centre of the universe!:whistling:
(you need to be Canadian and from somewhere outside of Ontario to understand this :D)

Spent 4 years in Toronto (although born and raised in the Prairies), but currently living in Japan.

I'm in Toronto, near High Park. New to these forums. Got into black and white darkroom printing last year, nothing too crazy. Just started learning RA-4, having fun with that. Printing lots during this pandemic. I mostly shoot portraits so I haven't been doing much of that lately.

Hi, I'm in Toronto as well (also in the west end) and also got into darkroom printing within the past year and set up a home darkroom... Where do you get RA-4 chemicals and paper from? I've seen that this place Argentix.ca in QC sells them but not aware of anywhere in the city. I have managed (mostly by accident) to collect pretty much everything needed for doing color work but not sure where to get the chemicals. I buy most of my paper and chemicals from FilmPlus at Symington and Dupont, but they don't sell stuff for color printing... I don't think Downtown Camera does either.

I got my chemicals from Argentix, as far as I know it's the only place in Canada, no international stores will ship the chemicals over the border. I've only done one order from Argentix so far and it came super fast. I did get the RA-4 starter from Adorama in the states. And I've gotten all my paper from B&H, just the Fuji stuff since Kodak is only sold on rolls. I spoke to Downtown Camera about carrying RA-4 stuff but they said it's unlikely to happen.

Beau Photo in Vancouver sells a lot of the kits.

@cee_med Appreciate it... odd that they don't sell the starter.. They actually seem to be out of stock on the kodak stuff right now.

@MattKing I looked on their site and I see C41 kits but no RA-4 kits for printing. I do see that they sell colour paper however.

According to the movie "Canadian Bacon" (one of my favorites) Toronto is the capital of Canada. Before you correct me, please watch the movie. Piss my pants every time, "and their beer sucks"

Beau Photo's website is a little better than it used to be, but it has never been their strength.
Call or email Nicole - you will get better information.
They can also place orders with a variety of distributors.
