If anyone from the Toronto area is looking for a darkroom to use, or is sick of using their kitchen/bathroom as a darkroom, consider the Gallery 44 facilities.

I'm not sure how many people know that the facilities exist, or how good they are.

You can click here for more info; go to the 'darkroom' tab.

They've got archival washers, drying screens, dry mount presses, and a high-end Fletcher mat cutter - so you've got everything you need to produce big, beautiful fibre prints, and frame 'em too. They've even got a big UV light box for alt. processes. The other week a member was printing an amazing Van Dyke series, which went on to hang in the Gallery upstairs.

There's seems to be less traffic in the darkrooms these days. I sometimes go days without seeing another printer. It's a sign of the times - but there must be more B&W printers out there. Quite frankly, I'm getting lonely in there!

It's certainly worth checking out!

Hope to see you around,

Marco
