Although I think you can good constant results with most brands, for the past 35 years I have found that Kodak has always had excellent quality control. I can't recall a time I have ever had a problem. I still use my 30 black and white data guide for Tri X and Plus X. I have been experimenting with other brands, but when I need to shoot for money or fame I still rely on Kodak.

... Tri X, after fixing I opened the tank and
there was a clear film base left on the reel, no
emulsion at all.

I've an explaination. The film's dealer kept it frozen then
thawed it on high in a micro-wave. The little moisture
in the film suddenly came to a boil causeing the
emulsion to explode off the base. I'ts a wonder
that roll even made it through the camera.

Why blame the manufacturers? Are'nt the dealers
the ones who deserve it? Dan
