Craig & Ian,
Can you share your HP-5 times in P'Cat? It's a combo that didn't occur to me. I usually use D-76, 1+1 and there's never anything wrong with that. I'm also one of those who enjoys HP-5 in Rodinal!
Thanks, J
I use it 1:1:100, 70°F, 1 minute very gentle inversions, followed by 2 gentle inversions each minute to a total time of 10½ minutes. I use the MC variant, mainly because I had mixed an overly large batch and it seems to last forever at 1:100. It may have a slightly sharper look than the HD but certainly not enough difference in my applications to be the decision maker. My sporadic bursts and lulls in shooting have me more comfortable with the TEA and glycol solutions for shelf life but I've never experienced any exhaustion surprises with HD either.
I recently found an extra 120 roll after thinking that I done all rolls from an event in MC and for fun, did the found roll in HD. They printed exactly the same and I could see no meaningful difference.
