Just take it a step further, Warden ... where did most "artspeak" come from? Out on the gritty playing field or up in the grandstands? Too often photographers allow themselves to be channeled by that kind of thing.

Why are you worried about artspeak?

There is good writing about art and bad writing about art, from artists and academia alike. It's not binary. I don't care one whit where the writing comes from; I like reading about art, and with a high school education anyone can dismiss poor quality artspeak and embrace the good stuff.

Now let's get this thread back on track because what I really want to know about is the qualifications of expert witnesses from the construction industry. 😉

Oh, there's is some art writing that I love to read too. Then there's that other category which has to have a some secret insider dictionary just to fluff up their fur, so to speak. Pardon my feline analogy, but having mentioned construction, I just finished my big porch awning to the darkroom, right when an attempted coup to the ruling outdoor cat order failed. Nothing serious enough to warrant a vet visit; but their own political disputes and re-alliances never end. I was eager, on this project, to beat the upcoming Fall wind storms. I'd hate to have its roof fly off into someone else's back yard and then need to hire an expert witness for the liability hearing.

Perhaps you should delete this post.
if such a scenario does take place, this might be used against you.
Proving you had prior knowledge and therefor not an accident with a misdemeanor charge.....but a felony. Criminal Negligence 🙂

You would not like the Tone.... or Esthetics..... of that outcome, now would you.?

Whether "abstract" or otherwise I feel tones and subject compliment each other for an effective photograph. I'll toss in three images I printed . The first I made over fifty years ago as something of a challenge and resulting from a visit to a local attraction and a joke with my then young children. I don't recall the exact steps I took but they involved Agfa Brovira single weight grade 6 paper, paper negatives and Kodalith 8x10 film. The print is on the Agfa Brovia 6. The question was : are zebras white with black stripes or black with white stripes? (actually they are black with white stripes) The original negative was 35mm Tri-X. Somewhere I have it printed wiih a black background which would be more correct but I couldn't find it.
The second and third were also silver prints from Ilford Delta 499 negatives on Ilford Multigrade fiber paper.

Plagiarism? ... Or a photographic masterpiece by a Neoclassical Scatologic genius? Only Don and Kohler know for sure.
