With microfilms things I cannot read when I take the photograph with a 50mm lens are clearly visible on 11x enlargement, not always the case with other 35mm films, and the grain is virtually invisible.

Howevever,IIRC I have many times noted people say they prefer traditional film to microfilm because of tonality.

Why is that? What is (was) wrong with the tonality of one or more of:
Tech Pan, Maco Ort 25c, Gigabit, Adox Bluefire, Copex Rapid, Imagelink,Adox CMS 20 ? Thanks.

Dear Alan,

It's a matter of opinion. Personally I loathe them: no 'richness'. Rather as Bilbo Baggins said, 'like butter that has been spread over too much bread'. But this ties in well to the thread I started today about 'what technical details do you notice?'

Cheers,

Roger
