I knew there were but just now I got two extremes together.
I just brought home another new old camera. At closer inspection I wondered about the thick outer-contact tube at the upper socket.
Also the socket is not screwed in as such, as with the lower one, but fastened by means of a retaining ring.
First I thought someone had exchanged that socket at that heavily battered camera and had nothing better at hand, but now I see at this sample on the net the same weird socket combination...
Problem is once pushed far onto such "wide" tube the female part of the plug will likely not sprong back when taken off and cause contact trouble when used one "thin" tube again.
