Thank You, for that hint! It is NOT a synchro socket, but for the accessory autoexposure unit.
This also explains why there is a tiny, hardly visible isolating ring between socket and body. You do not find that at PC sockets.
Well, maybe I should read manuals before putting up strange topics...
I thought about it being a different kind of PC socket, but I knew there only is one (except for an arresting feature). And I wondered about that "A", but did not think of anything "auto-", rather of a strange designation for bulb flashes.
