I am selling my Tokyo Optical 5cm f3.5 Simlar Leica thread mount lens. This rare lens is in good condition for its age. Mounted on a Leica body such as a II or III series, or one of the many fine copies out there accepting collapsible lenses, this very small and compact optic makes an amazingly powerful and portable combination for most film shooting needs.

The overall glass aspect is clean and clear and in my opinion there are no issues that affect images. I have shot several rolls film with this lens and have always had excellent results. If the lens is held up to a very bright light, and tilting at slight angle, one can see what appears to me to be numerous microscopic very tiny specks on the front element, or they are tiny dust specks or coating loss specks, or possibly pin prick sized scratch marks, I am not sure. It takes some effort to see them, but they are not dense enough to impact results in my view. However, I do want glass perfectionists to be aware that this is not a museum copy!

Viewing the glass in ordinary light the glass looks perfectly clear and clean, and that is validated my actual shooting results. The focus action is smooth, the collapsible action is a bit stiff, but it needs only a tiny dab of lube to remedy that, however it is usable as it is now anyway.

The iris action is also smooth. There appears to be either a tiny bit of iris blade oil, or perhaps just scoring on the iris blades. The latter issue is common with vintage thread mount lenses and does not impact use (and actually prevents the iris blades of ancient lenses from rusting according to my repair tech).

Overall this is a very beautiful and cool lens to collect and use! Please see my blog (link below) for more photos of the lens and sample images taken with it.

Price: $175 plus shipping. Sold as shown.

These were a lens that came bundled with Leotax cameras. Both the leotax camera and this lens are very good!
