It pays the bills, helps pay for the goodies to enjoy photography...but times like this leaves NO TIME to enjoy. That and in the end, no one really cares how hard you work.

Thank you all for your wishes, and Mr Blanski - I do believe I am crazy ....

Although I haven't finished up at the day job yet, it already feels like there is a weight off my shoulders. I've noticed my creativity returned immediately when I sat down last night to write my regular newsletter - the words are flowing freely again for the first time in several months.

While daunting, the next few months holds the promise of more intellectual reward than I've had before me for a couple of years. I'm ready for the challenge and looking forward to tackling it.

Again, I thank you for your thoughts. I hope my customers are as supportive.

That's exactly how I've been feeling - nobody gives a sh!t about my work at the day job. I've been doing very close to nothing there for 6 months now and nobody commented. It is soul-destroying to give your precious time to a company when you know you could use your time more productively elsewhere!

Between the day job and the current gallery, I've been putting in 70 hours a week, but 45 of those hours were wasted doing nothing but surfing the net and drinking coffee! Sure, I learnt a lot, but at what cost?

Me? Cynical? No, you've got the wrong bloke .....

Thanks Jorge. There are all sorts of insurance factors I need to worry about now! Your recent brush with fate is certainly in my thoughts for my future - I want to make the most of my own health while I still can. A healthy life is a fragile commodity and not to be taken for granted.

I'm not sure what it's like in AUS but in NZ I have full private coverage for the entire family for about $50US dollars a month -that's a relief..
