Popped a roll of TMY in the Yashica D, set my meter for 200(dont ask why) and spent the morning out shooting. I had a couple of low light shots indoors on it that I knew would be thin, but I figured still usable. Unload and straight into the can, got out the D-76, thinking 1+1 and enjoy some fat negatives. Looking up, spied the Rodinal on the shelf, put D-76 away, Rodinal it will be, 1+50. Everything set up and temps perfect, time to mix. Heres where I have a brain-fart, I mixed it 5ml/500ml, and proceded to develope for 8 minutes. Half way through the fix, my lightbulb pops on, and the verbal "aw-s__t!" escapes my mouth unimpeded(good thing the kids were out). I mixed 1+100. What a dumb-a$$. I had some really sweet shots on that roll. Finish washing, rinse, pull negs from the reel to hang, hmm...not too awfully bad looking negatives. I have a couple that I knew would be thin are now iffy, but I've done much worse. I cant wait to feed them to my enlarger tomorrow and see how they actually print. I can only imagine how they would have turned out had I mixed the correct amount of developer, or souped them for the full 20 minutes called for that dilution.

I rate TMY2 at 200 and develop in Rodinal 1:100 @ 70 degrees for 14 minutes (agitation 10 secs on top of each minute) for 14 minutes. This is for N development...... Makes fully exposed - low contrast negs that print beautifully at high paper grades. 8 minutes is pretty short though.... Good luck.

TMY2 @ ISO200 in Rodinal for 1:50 for 10' - beats the heck out of any other film/developer combo I used. It is also nice that I can get away without a yellow filter and still get nice "gray" skies.

That might give a slight increase in contrast but probably won't help much unfortunately. Selenium intensifies more where there is more silver. So it doesn't help low values. And if the entire negative is relatively thin, not much will happen with the higher values either.

True, but he exposed one stop more so there should be more exposed silver in the shadows.
