Timed Shutter Release (Self-Portraits with 4x5, etc)?

Hello,

Sorry if this is obvious, but I've searched and can't find what I'm looking for. Basically a self-timer function on a cable release, so I can use it for self-portraits with a 4x5 camera. I'm assuming they would be mechanical ones from back in the day, but I feel like there should even be electronic ones now that trip the shutter after a certain time that you input. Any help? I'm not sure what to search (I just recently found out about/remembered that pneumatic 20ft bulb shutters exist too)

-) self releases that accept a plain cable release are quite common over here:

-) one can put an extension cable between the shutter and a direct-attach self release.
I have never seen such extension cable in the wild. But the german manufacturer Schreck makes them.

Often times you will find these listed as an "Autoknip" (unit on the left) or just a self timer (item on the right is a solenoid), it screws into the cable release socket and is set. Once the release on the side of the timer is tripped you have between five and ten seconds before the shutter fires.

The one above is not an Autoknips strictly speaking. Anyway, there are many models of direct-attach self releases. But to my understanding the OP wants the self release mechanism more remote (likely for damping shock).

+1 for a Autoknips. I have a 1929 Autoknips II for my Rolleiflex original (1929, too).
Variale Self timer and exposures up to 10 seconds.
Prontor made the Prontor Timer for LF use, but I haven't used one yet.

I have an old mechanical type, is ok, but a little fiddly then you are in a rush to get yourself in the right spot..
Just got one of these air shutter release which should make life a little easier if Im within distance, also means I can use bulb for long exposures. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/KOOD-PR...C-20-6-METER-REMOTE-SHUTTER-NEW/201008950527?
A remote digital (none line of site) type would be excellent, but havent seen any.

I believe Linhoff made a cable with a timer. I guarantee they ain't cheap.
