I lost my M5 for about a week. Turns out I left it at a bar my wife and I go to every Thursday evening. They put it away for me knowing I would be back in a week.

Getting old sucks in some ways. Losing things (misplacing them) is one of those things. I probably don't do it any more than I ever did. In the old days my nickname was Columbo as I was always having to go back and get something I forgot.

Anyway while I was tearing apart the place looking for my M5 I pulled out all my photo bits from one of my cabinets. The photos below are all this "stuff". Everything from LF to video.

It's "stuff" I use. Well at least once every few years anyway.

So time to thin the herd as they say. Over the next few weeks I think I will be putting some well cared for goodies up for sale.

Now my American friends, don't be concerned I live in Canada. Trump hasn't banned all import into the US from Canada,,, yet. And your postal system and ours are totally meshed.

The sorting will begin tomorrow. It will be painful, I don't like parting with any of my babies.

Our postal systems are meshed or messed? Did I see some Hasselblads along with Leicas?
<< pant, pant >>

Yes indeed you did. However the blads are staying. I have a lot of overlap in the LF area as my wife is no longer shooting LF. We weren't good at sharing lenses hence the duplicates.

That would make quite a garage sale. How much for the blue ball in the background?

I see some AA batteries in a bag, I could use that unless it's Canadian voltage.

Looks like you've got the grandaddy of all AF SLRs, Maxxum 7000, right?

Eric, I have a similar but slightly different habit. I use something, then think I lost it, tear everything apart looking everywhere and wondering where I lost it only to find item reposing in the one place it couldn’t possibly be. Happens mostly with cameras, lenses, fountain pens and sunglasses. Seems I spend a quarter of my waking hours looking for stuff.

I always though that you were very wise and indeed you are!

Well if anything goes for the sum of 0 I'll be waiting. Find any 'useless' film?

Just like a crowded parking lot driving around like vultures circling a dying animal. = )

...leaves a $1200 camera at a bar and its there for him when he returns a week later....

oh, he's in Canada.

Cheers!

That's not counting the 50mm Summicron on it! Yup I love living here. I left a coat in a diner once and went back 6 months later and it was still hanging there. It is a very trendy place with lineups down the block so it's not like no one saw it. It was a nice one too. Still have it.

Oooh - what are the large format lenses. Want an easy sale within Canada?

The sharks smell blood in the water and start circling the prey.

The pile of stuff on the sell desk is getting bigger and bigger! Going through the LF lenses next. Sharks are welcome. Bottom feeders, not so much.

Eric

I have disposed of the majority of the cameras and lenses I don't use but I still have some camera bags and assorted odds and ends to get rid of.

Ok I have finally worked my way through the two tables of photo gear. Here is a shot of what's going to be hitting the classifieds. I promise to get the ads up before Trump gets his wall

Oh but wait, their's more! My wife has decided to thin her Canon lenses. Some up for grabs might be L series, depends on how ruthless she is feeling.
