I live and work in western Massachusetts. I am a multi-format shooter: a couple of Fuji MF rangefinders; 4x5 and 5x7.
I have an MFA in sculpture and taught the subject as a part-time gig for four years. What prompted the switch to photography as my main artistic poison of choice was when my first daughter was born, I was a Mr Mom by day, taught a couple of afternoons a week and worked camera retail 5 or 6 nights a week - no time for sculpure or painting. So I have been concentrating on photography for almost 22 years now.
If d*****l ever is successful in killing off analog, I will go back to sculpture and painting for my creative output.

I’m an old guy…well certainly on the back nine, who’s been into photography since only 1979. For many years, I was involved in arson photography, working in my own darkroom from the get-go. Unfortunately, that darkroom has been in boxes for many years…! My wife and I are alone now as the kids have flown the coop…and boy do we love it. I am, though, excited about my son and daughter’s education and work successes. I retired two years ago but still work about 30 hours a week. I love motorcycling, antique automobiles, 60’s muscle cars, old cameras and old houses…well, anything that is old and historic. I love anything that is funny…the Marx brothers, three stooges, many British comedies, Woody Allan…etc, etc, etc. I’m interested in anthropology, sociology and archeology and only wish I had educated and worked in any of those professions (maybe in my next life….) Instead I fought fires for a living! I went to college for historic preservation and after all this time, still have a couple classes to finish! I guess all that is left is to go to Scotland except that my wife feels that I won't come back. Well, that’s all folks.

I'm a retired engineer. I currently do a little consulting, and also serve as the editor-in-chief for a magazine published by an international technical society. Married (for 35 years) with two kids - one out on his own, while the other still lives at home.

My photographic journey began many years ago with a Brownie Holiday camera used mainly for casual family and vacation snaps. Migrated from there to a 35mm rangefinder for travel slides, and eventually to an SLR. Built my first darkroom 30 years ago, and did a little of everything - b/w, color prints, color slides, and cibachrome. Eventually settled on b/w as my preferred medium.

Today, I still have a couple of SLRs (both Nikon) with enough lenses. Also a TLR (Yashica) and Crown Graphic. But my favorite is my Zone VI 4x5. Do both traditional silver prints and Pt/Pd contacts for both personal satisfaction and occasional display.
