The purpose of this book is:

1) To provide a much-needed update on Lith Printing materials and techniques, illustrated by the author, specially invited guest contributors and work selected from open submission.
2) To explore the application of some digital techniques, both in Lith Printing and/or its digital simulation
3) To be a forum for collecting and sharing submitted techniques & ideas
4) To act as a contact resource for those interested in Lith printing, or its digital equivalent, to establish communication with each other
5) To be an international showcase of work, both to act as inspiration to readers and…
6) To be a possible resource for commercial image users
7) To compile a list of internet sites concerned with Lith printing
8) To act as a companion book to ‘The Master Photographer’s Lith Printing Course’.

Submissions are now being accepted for both the open gallery and the Forum sections of the book. Traditional lith, faux lith, bleach lith - all lith printing processes; conventional, avant-garde and innovative images, will all be represented.

Submission forms and full details of how to submit are now available on the internet at:

I look forward to hearing from you.

There's that bad word. It sneaks in everywhere.
Judging by my last trip to Borders, they won't put a book on the Photography shelf without that word in the title.

Hey take courage guys...here are the rules for the Agfa contest:

* only photographs taken on black-and-white film
* printed on black-and-white photographic paper
* no digital pictures
* no uploads
* no prints on color paper
* no prints on inkjet paper
* no slides

Be fair folks: Tim Rudman has published more for us chemical junkies over the years than any other author. One chapter in one book ain't gonna kill anybody...

Yeah, I thought the Agfa rules were very fair: doesn't even have to be Agfa film or paper!

Cheers, Bob.

Sorry, my first thought was why would I go through the motions of becoming a master lith printer and enter my pictures next to ink jet prints?

Does he at least give you a copy of the book, if you are included?

Thanks for the posting Sean. I'm not a lith printer myself but I have read some of Tim's writings on the subject and find it a fascinating area. Some day I'd like to try it. In the meantime, it's great to have access to a site where an author you have read and admire asks for entries.
