And don't forget the beer.

If it were me I would shoot XP2, Nikon N90s with drive, 50/1.4, 85mm/1.8 and fast 200mm. Lots of film!!!
In 25+ years of folk & bluegrass festivals... I've never seen that happen.
When I freelanced, in the 90s, for my local paper the Mesa Tribune, I covered a few rock concerts it was quite common to ban SLRs. I had a press pass, was allowed to cover the first 2 or 3 songs then I had to go. My wife was the music reviewer so she was allowed to stay for the entire concert. Being chased out worked for me as I could turn the film in so an image could run in the AM paper.
All depends how many negatives you want of images you'll never print![]()
What's that suppose to mean?
What's that suppose to mean?
It means.... photographing an event doesn't always mean photographing everything....the amount of film depends on your style, your decisions, what you want to capture.
Nice analogy. But remember that like PhotoShop, we merely rent beer not own it. One can easily follow the flow of thought ...
Ever think about not using the machine gun mode for a change?
Eric Rose, I don't think the OP is a professional..... or he wouldn't be asking on an open forum. He's going to a 3 day festival. Apparently he's not in the employ of the directors of the board. It is a very common thing these days that people go to a musical event, concert or festival & spend most of their time experiencing it through their phone screen....So we're all guessing at his photographic goals.
What makes you consider my comments 'snide', because I offer a different point of view than yours? Do you think the OP will get better photographs with a high-speed motor drive & fifty rolls of film a day?
&
btw i have shot for publication and for art directors...
There have been some very good comments here, and instead of fighting w each other I am willing for all of you to have a good yell at me.
For the greater good.
Have a brownie, sit back and let the comments roll in.
