US market is one for Beseler and Omega brands. Durst was available, but always at price points far above the other two , DeVere ? I don't recall ever seeing them until I got back to Europe. So B&O is an obvious first choice. Durst Laborator 1200 will take things up quite a bit and to the 4x5 size, but it may not fit, both space and/or budget.
In case you're looking for high grade 6x9 enlarger and do not ever envision 4x5 negatives for enlargement, don't forget about Durst M805. However, considering (any) Durst has one pitfall ... extras. Look for one with as many extra bits and pieces as possible. While these are no longer the days of finding a bargain, they are still out there even if at not so a bargain point. But the money is in add-ons, extras needed to run different formats efficiently etc. and the number of accessories Durst made is mesmerizing. Here I see a lot of Durst stuff having been stripped to single bits and put out for sale. I went through comparison between a whole enlarger and same put together from single bits, 600 vs. 2,000+ total price. Point being spending 500 on a working set for single negative size vs. a 1,000 for a box full of additional pieces is not necessarily a smart buy. One can actually end up with free enlarger, if extras are not worth anything to him.
