I don't want to copy our other ImPossible thread but wanted a place to discuss the 600 film. It is now available!!!! I have ordered some and the test photos look amazing that they have posted!

I bought two packs as well. The test shots look beautiful! Somehow I don't think my cheap plastic one step will get images that look nearly as sharp but that's ok. I know the limitations of that camera and still like it anyway.

I have always shot 600 in the plastic cameras and I have gotten razor sharp results most of the time. Especially some of the older 600 cameras are my favorite. They plan for Spectra soon too. I don't have any of the spectra cameras but I suppose it may be time to find one

yeah, i don't have any spectra cameras either but if I found one on craigslist or something I would probably pick one up at this stage or once they come out with film in that format.

As it is, the 600 should work much better for me than the px-100 did. I can't tell you how dissapointed I was when i loaded a pack into my SX-70 only to find out the camera was dead. booo! It worked in my 600 One Step though but the proper film should work better.

How to order

Hello , did you order online at the above link? or from a distributor in the U.S.?
thank you.

I have looked at ordering two packs, but they charge me 50 USD for delivering two packs (worth 42 USD) to Canada. I know the Loonie is currently kicking the Greenback's lower back, but expensive is expensive.

I have contacted them to say how ludicrous it was; if anybody else in Canada can do the same, they might benefit from the feedback.

I was not aware they were coming out with Spectra film... I happen to have one sitting on my shelf! Woo Hoo!

For now, the only way in the US to buy it is there. The ImPossible will ship it from their US warehouse if you live in the US. Eventually, they will be getting 5 stores in the US on board to sell, one of them being Blue Moon Camera and Machine.

It's so long i have to be reminded: does 600 film work in my SX? It doesn't, does it?

That is the best news I've heard all week. That means for me at least I could buy the stuff local! how cool is that?

I was just in that store yesterday afternoon too buying a lens. I should have asked them about it.

Sarcasm here? The SX-70 film is ISO 100 and the 600 film is ISO 600. You could make it work by removing the ND Filter over the meter, I blieve.

No, no. No sarcasm.
Real ignorance.

I only ever used Polaroid in a Colorpack 88 and an SX 70 (both a loooong time ago), and packfilm (and sheets) in various Polaroid backs.

But lo and behold!
I had a look in my curiosity cabinet, and found i have an unused Polaroid 600 Instant Camera, still in the box it came in! With a built-in flash in the fold-over front, and a "New adjustable hand strap". Late 1990s?

I had never even opened the box. So i did just that for the very first time today, to see if there might be a very old film with it. But they apparently sold without (Good thing, i think, or it might have become an ugly mess by now).

Will this thing be very valuable now?

It depends on the model. Most likely not in the US but I see you are in the Netherlands so I am not sure. Are you near the ImPossible factory at all? :D

You know the Netherlands?
You can't be far from anything, no matter where you are.

The PX-100 has been revised from the original version that most of us have used. They made a few improvements.

But when will the revised PX100 be ready to ship?

I feel like they will be constantly revising it for a while.

Any plastic 600 focus free camera is virtually worthless because there are so many millions kicking around. Any SLR or camera with autofocus/other intriguing features can be worth more.

As far as it seems, they won't make a big deal of the revisions. They will happen. They said that they are no longer running the same PX-100 that was introduced and this next batch that was shipped along with the 600 has some of the revisions.

So how will we know what film we are buying?
Puts me off getting some of the stuff yet again.

That I don't know but will try to get the answer to. From the way that they put, it seemed like they said that all of the stuff that you are buying directly off of them from now on will be revised.....Don't quote me on that. I'll give them a holler.

The film hit my mailbox this morning! AMAZING especially when compared to the first PX-100! I will try to get some scans. It is much more of an actual BLACK and WHITE then the "silver shade" of the 100.
