I just cleaned up an old Agfa B2 Cadet that was given to me the other day and loaded it up with a roll of Freestyle/Arista Ultra B&W 120 (aka B2 film in the old days), and that's when the sun went away and the thunderstorms started. I'm thinking I need full sun for this cardboard box and tiny plastic lens, can't wait to see the results tho. I have an Ikomat 520/2 on the way in the mail from FleaBay too, looks pristine in the pics. Rolleicord, move over! Looks like my six old 35mm SLRs will get a bit of a break while I blow off some 120.

Tomorrow, there's a Volvo car meet that I'm going to. Going to be finishing up a roll of Fuji NPH 400 and working on a roll of Ilford Delta 3200. The Fuji is in my F2A, and my F has the Delta 3200 in it. Probably will have my 85f1.8, and my 50f2 with me. Maybe another lens, like the 24f2.8...

An fR Reporter camera (an inexpensive 2.25x3.25 press camera) with a 4" Petzval mounted on a copal #1 shutter. Who knows? The lens seems to cover 6x6 better than 6x9 and it would really help to have a view screen.... (G.A.S. attack may be imminent) Maybe a Bronica or it's more expensive cousins?

This week im shooting with:
Nikon F100 w/ilford fp4+ 20-100 f3.5
Graflex 22 w/Ektar 100 120
Pacemaker Speed Graphic w/Ilford fp4+

Franka Rolfix with Radionar lens 6x9 with Fuji Acros 100, Bronica ETRS for "street shooting 4th of July), really enjoying the 120 format lately, and a Nikon N80 (Kodachrome for fireworks of course!).

I am 47, and have been a photo hobbyist since about 1977, worked for a studio for 5 years, owned a Bronica ETRS back in the 80s, and various Nikon equipment. Since purchasing the Franka Rolfix and shooting 6x9cm B&W and making my own prints again in a "wet darkroom" I realized something. All the money I spent on 35mm and 645 format equipment over the years was just an attempt to achieve through technology (better lenses?) what the older larger formats could achieve by sheer size. I am not 100 percent sure but I think the negatives from my Frank Rolfix (which I got on E-bay for under $50 US) are sharper than those shot with my Bronica ETRS, at least they appear sharper on the print easel under the focusing aid, and the 11x14 prints are outstanding (yes a bit of softness in the corners, but I like the effect).

I am not sure that moving up to 4x5 would fit my shooting style, but a Graflex Century with a 6x9 back (or two, or three), and some lens movement seems very attractive, and I would not have to upgrade my darkroom.

And my Dad said I would never learn anything.

this week

my new/old polaroid 450 and the fuji 100 pack film....forgot exactly how much fun instant film photography really is!! and the results are beautiful
Best, Peter

This weekend, it was a new-to-me Ricoh 500G rangefinder loaded with Kodak BW400CN. This is the first proper roll through the camera, and first time I've used the BW400CN film.

It's quite a nice little camera to use, shutter priority or manual, and works (meterless) without batteries. It does have a slightly strange sounding shutter - as sort of "ping" sound. All part of the character I suppose.

I picked the roll up yesterday from the photo shop, and the results look good.

Nikon F5 and 70-300mm VR lens. I wanna check these two babies working out together.

Lug'n me Toyo View 4x5 around...

and me Mamiya RZ with extra double pounder prism

And mayhaps my Yashica Mat 124G

or me 6x9 folder....

Loaded with FP4 and HP5

I WAS supposed to be trying out an Agifold. Alas when I tried to give it a CLA I found the rangefinder had shed most of the siver (or Aluminium) from it's semi-silvered beam splitter. Consequently I have left it in bits whilst I source a new bit of semi-silvered glass.

So instead - I've resurrected a Voigtlander Perkeo I. I tried this out a few weeks ago, it was a lemon
I purchased it off eBargumBay... It looked good but was incapable of taking a sharp picture. Ater a bit of TLC it seems someone had taken the front focussing ring off, maybe to clean the otics - and refitted it without setting up the distance scale.

A few minutes with a bright light and a tape measure and hopefully it may perform a little better, now

Zeiss Ikon Ikonta 521/16 with Kodak Portra 800
Zeiss Ikon Nettar 515 with Fuji Provia 100
Zeiss Ikon Box Tengor 56/2 with Fuji Reala 100
I like Zeiss Ikon cameras :D

This week I'm shooting with a new to me Canon FD 20mm f2.8 lens on a Canon T90 body.

Canon AE-1/50mm f/1.4 S.S.C./Tri-X.
