My new 150mm Zeiss Sonnar T* for my Hasselblad. One out of the two lenses I own for this setup. Kodak Plus-X film, souped in Edwal 12 chemistry.

I'm using my beloved Olympus OM-2 again, but I have Fuji Superia 200 in it, which isn't very useful this time of year. But oh well, my tripod head should arrive tomorrow and I can start doing long exposure type stuff. Yay.

M2 with CV 35\2.5 Skopar, CV 50\2.5 Skopar & CV 75\2.5 Heliar and HP5+ and Tri-X. It's a nice way to close out 2008 and start 2009.

Happy New Year all.

I ran out of fast film, so blew the cobwebs off my 10D for New Year's Eve. The pix were OK, but digital sucks ass compared to film for general shooting. Off to Samy's now to get more Press 800 and Delta 3200, and pick up my Provia 400X and Ektar 100 test rolls.

I went out yesterday and shot 6 of the No. 2 Brownies. I had planned to shoot 8, but accidently left 2 of them behind in another camera bag. Sent film off to the lab today.

Didn't get around to shooting the No. 1 Panorams, as I started too late, and by the time I finished with the Brownies, it was getting dark and the Panorams were loaded with ASA 100 stuff. Oh, well, another day will probably dawn.

Well, if Mother Nature decides to stop being so nasty with this freezing rain I will take the pair of Kodak No. 1 Panorams out for some mountain vista shots. Might also take along the two No. 2 Brownies that I left behind the other day, and toss in a No. 2 Conley Kewpie for good measure.

Just got done....

refurbing a Fujica Half! Got a couple of exposures on a new roll of 12 (make that 24!).

Shutter sounds really good; the meter is toast. It may be in for a Selenium cell replacement, but I'm used to guesstimating exposures, so there's no hurry.

Really fun to have it in a shirt pocket!

Last week I had a shoot-out with a Nikkormat FT2 and a Canon F1n (AE finder). Both had 50mm lenses. Color print film printed at my pro lab. The Nikon looked sharper, while the Canon was better in low light. Just my opinion. Also discovered the Nikkormat had a light leak -- replacement foam has been ordered.

And both shooting in jurisdictions named after the 1st president. Eerie.

Uh, that's weird. Exactly what I'm shooting... with a few exceptions.

  • Instead of a Leica M6 TTL w/Neopan, it is a Nikon EL-2 with Tri-X.
  • Instead of the tele-rolleiflex w/Delta 3200, it's an Mamiya RB-67 with HP5+.
  • Instead of the Contax IIa w/ Optima 400, it's a Crown Graphic/Schneider 135mm Xenar and Tri-X.

The astute among you will see that furcafe and I are using exactly 3 (three) cameras and film in each one (1).

Wow.

Last week I took the kidds to the park with the Nikon F w/Photomic finder and 50mm f1.4 loaded with Tri-X @ 1250ASA and finished the day with Arcos. This week I am running a test roll of Neopan in a Mamiya C330. Thinking of running a roll in a Topcon Unirex for kicks.

It's been below zero for more than a week too cold to go out if you don't have to, so I'm at home in my study doing some table top shots of some jewellry for a friend who needs them for his insurance company with my Canon EF and FD 50mm macro lens and extention tube on Fuji Reala. the EF is perfect for the job because it has mirror lock, and can give timed exposures up to 30 seconds .

One of my favorite all time cameras!

The shutter on mine failed a few years ago. I couldn't find anybody to repair it. Sadly sold the whole system.
