I just recently got back into photography, I took some courses all through highschool using a K1000. When I graduated I bought a Digital Rebel and used it for a couple months but it just wasnt that great to me. I guess there is just something about using film and going into a dark room and reveiling your work, its like opening a present or something. Also I am a super hater of photoshopping the hell out of your digital photo, that airbrush look is just so terrible. Anyway I sold the rebel bought another k1000 a 50 and a 28mm lens and a flash. I am loving it again and this site is just making it even better. Thanks. I am looking to get into vintage cameras more aswell, but I dont have a darkroom so I guess I am kind of limited to 35mm film and a local photolab. Got any favorite vintage 35's?

My favorite vintage 35? An Ihagee Exakta with a nice little Zeiss Jenna.

The first camera I bought way way way back was an Exacta 500. Cool camera, no meter as I recall. I had a hot shoe meter. Bought it new and used it a lot. Oh the good old days. You know 35mm film used to come in metal cans with metal lids. 35mm enlarging equipment and darkroom equipment is really inexpensive these days.

I lug my 4x5 for 'serious' stuff, but I've been using a K1000 for family snap shots. Mines been without a battery for about three years, but who cares? I just slap on a flash indoors, and fly by the seat of my pants (f16 rule) outdoors. Try that with a delicate, modern camera

Favorite vintage 35mm? That must be the Welta Welti! A small, folding 35mm camera with a 50mm f:3.5 Tessar on it. Guess focussing and guess exposure too.

Oh - the old FSU rangefinder "Leica clones" can be pretty good too!

Favourite 35mm? Rollei 35. Most useful? Nikon F80 with 28-105mm Nikkor.

(Careful with the Rolleis though; they're addictive! )

Favorite 35mm? Right now I'm having fun with a Canon/Bell&Howell Canonet 19, bought at at thrift store for less than two dollars. Then there's always the Nikon F.

Greetings from a fellow Canuck. My favourite 35 is a toss up between a K1000, MEsuper and a Kodak Retina 3c. Then there's the sp1000, and the mamiya sekor 1000dtl, and the ricoh (all screw mounts). The fed 5, retina 1b and 2a are a lot of fun too. I guess they are all my favourites.
