I'm happy to announce that I won over GAS, at least for this time !!

I've been dreaming of a third large format lens, that should be about 300mm in focal, light enough to keep my Tachihara happy, cover 8x10 (just in case I'm tempted in the coming years :wink:) and not too expensive.

Of course, when I finally managed to get the money for this, one showed up at a shop for a price that seems fair. But in the same time a Leica M3 also apperaed on my radar, offered with a lens (OK, a Jupiter 3) for almost the same price.

I've had some hard days but I made up my mind today and immediately ran to the shop to get the Fuji 300/8,5 C !!!

So I consider I won over GAS, since this was a planned acquisition, which complements my 4x5 kit.

The lens looks like a gem, I'd rate it EX+++ (the only missing thing is the box, no scratches or cleaning marks !).

:cool::cool::cool::cool:

Bravo, my friend. Sheer force of will shall overcome. The best way to shake GAS is cold turkey. (hides the smell)

I am able to convince my wife it is not GAS by making a short term useful photogrpahic material and equipment things to acquire list and telling her about it at least once every 6 months.

I strive to seek out only good deals for things on that list.

If the searched for gear comes in a lot that brings other bob in for a good package price, well that is where this system breaks down.

Selling GAS to her is a lot easier now that I have paid the mortgage off, and have the retirement and kids education funds regularly auto deducted from my bank account.
