What's the thinnest film base ever put into use by known manufacturers? I am in the black-and-white field, know that there are some stocks around of 0.068 mm (2.7 mils) total dry thickness but like with magnetic tape films might become thinner in the future. Clearly not sheet film but in the 35mm format.

Something like 0,043 mm (1.7 mils) would allow triple length in a cartridge or a magazine. Of course, there seem to be a bunch of obstacles with the processing machines. I don't know. Who does?

.0035" (0.0889mm) is what I measure for Ilford 72 exposure HP5.
