There's a fungus among us

Thank you all very much for the information. I will spend some time with it this weekend and swab it down and see what it looks like it.

I did take a Q Tip and wipe within the mirror box. A layer of dirt and some of the white particles came off.

There is absolutely no smell.

I think this could be a good camera for inclement weather or leaving in the car for spontaneous use, things like that. Nice camera for those uses and who cares if it gets drenched occassionally.

So I think I will swab it well inside and out, change out the seals and see what happens.

I'll report back once I have it cleaned up

Exactly! Just replace the foam, which you would do regardless.
