In recent days I have been looking into the lives of early photographers and image pioneers, and I was struck by the birth and death dates of Muybridge and Marey, surprisingly close to each other. I am aware that movement, dynamism and sequential imagery are themes long considered exhausted in photography and in art. Starting from this awareness, I experimented with overlapping several of my mirror self-portraits. The result aims to suggest a sense of calming frenzy, an almost psychological oxymoron
