A group of informal portraits done in classic diffused focus mode with the Kodak 8X10 during our final field session on the Per Volquartz FREE Workshop, Tonopah Nevada.

The P&S shots were done at f6. Exposures were all the same, 1/25 + or - by internal Packard shutter. The B&L lens has no adustable aperture so these were done at f4. Film is Efke 100 developed in PMK Pyro. BTW for the worry warts, the PMK is a pre-mixed liquid batch from Photo Formulary that is about 3 years old now. The A solution is darker than Coca Cola, and the B solution "rattles". Still works fine.

I am so sorry I was not able to attend and represent the Boise LF'ers. Maybe Per would consider a similar workshop in Idaho. I am sure one and all had a great time in Area 51.

I bet you would! A 5D 19" Dallmeyer with a stuck softener ring! I only wish I got it as cheap as your $14 jewel. Just got through taking a couple more pictures with it. Hope to develop them in the JOBO today. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Really nice portraits

Thanks for sharing these very good portraits. I wish there was a list somewhere of all the inexpensive but great lenses for LF portraiture. It's only with experience that one can know what will work and what won't, and that experience doesn't come cheap.

Seeing Jim with his camera and lenses in action was a real treat. Sitting for the portrait a little nerve wracking- "DON'T MOVE!!" as the bazooka is aimed at your head!
