The SUBCLUB now has SSL support -- FINALLY!!!

I've been working on this since last year, and I'm relieved to report that the SUBCLUB now has SSL support -- FINALLY!!!

There have been several hurdles to jump through, the main one being that the server and the hosting company have been bought up by other companies several times, and no one wanted to deal the the former company's petty problems.

So if you have been having trouble accessing any of the SUBCLUB's websites, you should no longer have that problem.

When I click on the links, it's still coming up
" This site can’t be reached
Check if there is a typo in www.subclub.org.
DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN"

Any suggestions ?
I used to view these sites quite often but haven't been able to get access on either my phone or laptop PC for a few years.

Thanks for reporting that. I am at a loss. When I try any of these (below), I get there -- and it always shows HTTPS:/// on the left of my browser -- with a LOCK ICON, too.

Try each of these and tell me which work and which don't. They all work for me:

I’m pretty sure the SSL issue (now resolved) is separate from the DNS issue (which I think has always affected some people and not others). I can see it now, but for many years I got DNS errors. I don’t understand the mysteries of DNS well at all, but it looks like their address information is not propagating correctly to all servers.

For people who can’t connect to subclub.org, try looking at it through the Wayback Machine at web.archive.org instead.

Thanks for the input, but the DNS is just the IP address, and since it's there and it has SSL support it makes no sense why they can't access it -- unless some intermediary server is blocking it. But maybe that's what you are saying.

I though SSL was designed to solve that problem!?!?!?!

SSL secures the connection, DNS translates the domain name to an IP address. I bet if people who can’t reach the site put in the numeric IP address instead of the name, it’ll work, but that’s just a guess.

People could try changing their configured DNS server as well, I suppose.

Still no luck with those links .
That's on Google Chrome.

I've tried the links on Firefox as well and it comes up ;

I will try again tomorrow on my PC .

They always used to open fine , so no idea what's changed .

I sometimes cannot connect on a commercial VPN (403 Forbidden), but with my native connection, it works.

That's right.

Btw, no access problems here. And indeed, the error posted in #3 is a domain name resolve error. I.e. the domain name doesn't resolve into an IP address. It's unrelated to SSL. @xkaes you might want to contact your hosting provider and file a support ticket with them. You can refer to e.g. this page to describe the problem: https://dnschecker.org/#A/subclub.org
Looks like there's a pretty serious/widespread problem with your domain name not resolving in a large part of the world.
Edit: and it looks like it may be a problem with a faulty DNS config:

Thanks for that information. Perhaps TECH SUPPORT can resolve it.

I just got my monthly GOOGLE Performance Report, and apparently more people are able to access the website. And Germany has now surpassed Canada with the third highest number of viewers.

FYI, not working here, and has never worked for me. My internet provider is AT&T in California.

This site can’t be reached​

www.subclub.org’s server IP address could not be found.

The link does work for me, using Chrome from Canada.
Maybe there is something in the website's code that needs to be a larger format .

Firefox, Win 10 from Germany: The first did not work at first attempt, all the others worked fine and at a retry the first worked as well. Hope it helps.

You're welcome. Your web host should be able to help you out fix your DNS records. I expect this is really the problem; the incorrect settings are accepted by some servers, but not others that are more discerning.

Please note that this is really a server-side issue, so it's unrelated to what browser or operating system someone uses to try and access the website. The determinant is which DNS servers are used and whether they're OK with the technically incorrect DNS configuration.
