Its now or never, the old dark room of about 2.5 square metres has outlived its usefulness and if Im going to progress I need to move to bigger pastures.
First I had to help my wife renovate a couple of rooms for her sewing and library and stuff so I don't feel too much self indulgent guilt.
Anyhow it will be 8x4 mtrs and red, have just a double door opening, will be darkroom, storage, sound engineering and projector room.
Patched up the old shed and will paint as well.
This will be used as well, will also have covered breezeway between the two sheds.
Monday morning.

Ran the services, power, data cable, storm water and sewerage.

Wednesday day, pad ready for concreting.

I hurt!

Need to rest for awhile, get back to paid work and earn some more money, but the worst is done. I'll get someone to do the concrete, but will do the rest myself.

By the look of things, you dont have to worry about sub zero temperatures
No, although I'll still complain when it gets to the low Celsius teens in the cooler months. Can be a little warm this time of year, so I will use 50mm insulated roofing panels on the roof and insulation bats in the walls and some air-conditioning to help me from loosing my cool.

Hi Valerie, be nice to have some space and not have to pack everything up at the end of the day. Want to get into 16mm short stories for something different. Wont be much progress over the next couple of months as I have to deal with third parties and bureaucrats. Once the concreting is done, should move along quickly as I can do the rest myself. Will have some rainwater tanks and plant some paw paw and bananas to water with some of the waste water.......Thats if they can compete with the mango tree.

The red shed sounds like a great name for a darkroom series.

Any solar going on the roof to offput some, or all of the air conditioning usage?

Looking quite good, looks like a 3.3m high version.

Not at this stage, cost was more than it should so the rest will be done as economically as possible. Won't need AC too often and the darkroom will be in the rear third. Will have it so I can open up if needed. Plenty of trees to give shade as well. Walls are 2.6mtrs high so is Plenty of room.

That is a pretty nice looking shed/darkroom. The doors are a really nice touch. Great job!
