It's like watching what's left of the neighbor's cat days after the coyotes got him...

It is interesting to remember that George Eastman originally invented the word "kodak" as the name of that camera thingy he was going to sell because the word meant nothing and had no conceivable meaning in any language on the planet.

With the name now a widely licensed "brand," sold to go with any product willing to pay, it seems to have come full circle.

Interesting.

Perhaps they can license the name for toilet paper too - a brand we can trust

Should be The Polaroidization of Kodak. Sometimes my spelling reflects my disgust with a subject.

The pedantic amongst us would say it should be Polaroidisation!

Steve.

"Polaroidisation"

I just added this term to my photographic dictionaries and encyclopedias.

I get a blank screen when I click the link as of 12:30pm today GMT. Anyone else?

I also get a blank screen when I click on pbromaghin's image of Alcohol Involved. Any connection?

Everything else on APUG works fine

Thanks

I just checked again: I get that linked site.

Putting a whole new spin on "brownie" film.

As long as I can still get Tri-X 400 120 format I don't care if they repackage
dookie and sell it on the market for 100 dollars a pound.

In the past I already came across "Kodak" branded batteries and office paper.

Do you think the rolls ought be wrapped in individual moisture-proof foil envelopes? Have you any suggestions for what size number should be used? Perhaps 001? Or 002? Maybe a clever combination of those? :D

The "Kodak" batteries I've tried were Chinese made and complete junk. As for paper, we don't see office paper around here, but my wife did just stock up on the discontinued "Kodak" inkjet paper in "Studio Gloss" finish. It's nicer than many others she's tried, including somewhat similar Epson versions, and says "Made in Germany" on the packages. I assume that's Schoeller. Probably pre-bankruptcy and to be replaced with more third-world junk now.

I would like edge numbering on each sheet so I know when the end of the roll is approaching.

But knowing Kodak, the size will be nonstandard and we'll all have to buy another TP holder.

Hah! I get blank screen on the pic too. Laostyle17 posted it under my ID because he isn't paid up. I think he might have had a little too much to drink. But the website in the OP link does come up for me.

Kodak Is Making Android Phones Now Because Sure, Why Not I Guess?
— Eric Limer, for Gizmodo online, December 26, 2014

"The company—now little more than a name to be slapped on products from all kinds of no-name manufacturers..."

"If this sound vaguely familiar, it's because Polaroid has gone down this same road to little success, lending its name to a series of entirely unremarkable Android tablets. There's an outside chance these new Kodak devices might be worth a damn, but it's far more likely they'll just be sad reminders of how much those little yellow boxes used to mean to us."

Poor Fluffy the Cat is really starting to smell...

Well done, Tony.

My ex-wife purchased a Polaroid tablet for our daughter as a Christmas gift, two days later it's deceased and the kid is cursing. Neither one of us knew Polaroid was "making" tablets........I wonder how we'll deal with the warranty.

They made some of the optional sensors for my EOS 3 and my RZ67 ... look for Sensia and Astia ...

The link now works for me as of 10:40pm GMT.It must have been a temporary glitch which may have affected others' attempts to access the link had they tried at the same time as me but I don't know.
