Just received a notice from Aperture that they are offering a 30% discount on 2025 books before Dec. 31. These include several that should be wonderful: Lee Miller, Man Ray, Manuel Alvarez Bravo and more.

I received it as well. The books aren't from Aperture, however, they're from Yale University Press.

Oh, I didn't see any mention of Aperture being involved in the publication of those YUP books, but I may have missed it. Either way, a good deal on what appears to be some great books.

I recently picked up the latest monograph from Sage Sohier titled Easy Days, published by Nazraeli Press. I bought it at the opening reception for the exhibition of the same name currently on at the Center for Photographic Art in Carmel, CA. Sage Sohier herself was signing the books in-person at the opening. I brought along the first two books of the trilogy - Americans Seen and Passing Time - in the hopes that she wouldn't mind signing those as well, and she kindly obliged.

If you're in the area, check out the exhibition before it closes on November 30th. All of the prints are silver gelatin and several of them are vintage prints printed by Sohier in her own darkroom (the larger ones were printed at a lab under Sohier's supervision). The last time I was at the gallery there were still some signed books available.

Just ordered Candlestick Point by Lewis Baltz from Steidl. His books are so hard to find — or so expensive when found —, I was happy to see this was still available.

Steidl will also be re-issuing (date unknown) The new Industrial Parks near Irvine, California.

Great news, thanks for sharing.

I have the Steidl anthology on him published, if I'm not wrong, shortly after he died. It's wonderful, and It seems to be out of print now. Every now and then I do get lucky.

I look forward to the future reissue you linked to, too!

Good to hear about the reissue of The New Industrial Parks. I hope it comes to fruition faster than New Topographics, which has been promised for years

The only Baltz title I currently have is The Prototype Works published by Steidl, which I see is now OOP. Excellent book, if you ever stumble on a copy.

Amazon seems to have it scheduled for release in Feb 2026 and is taking pre-orders. Not sure whether to trust that date tbh..

It looks like Zander Galerie in Cologne Germany just had an exhibition of The New Industrial Parks that closed last month. Some nice installation photos on their site. That would have been nice to see in person.

On another subject, I've just been looking at my copy of Albert Watson's "Maroc," This is a wonderful book of his pictures shot in Morocco. I consider him one of the greats, yet one doesn't hear much about him.

Isn't he mostly recognized, and celebrated, as a fashion/celebrity portrait photographer?

Maroc looks like a really interesting book, albeit somewhat left field from his main photographic output, at least from the little I've seen on the web.

With Moriyama's work it's kind of hard to tell if something is well printed or not But it seems to be printed as well as the other Moriyama books I have.

I think the print quality is better than that captured in the video - that video looks like the contrast is cranked a bit high.

I've attached some quick shots of a couple of spreads. Apologies for the variable lighting, I tried with and without the overhead lights on in order to try and get a true representation of the print quality.

Sweet. Thanks for that man... The only Moriyama book I have is a little Phaidon pocket type. I've been waiting for a retrospective. There are so many Moriyama books I could never figure out which ones to get...

No problem. He's published a zillion books, it is hard to figure out which to buy. And some of the better ones are long OOP and very expensive on the used market. This is a cool one since it combines four of his best books into one volume.
