The old Agfa Portriga Rapid

I know it ‘s not made anymore but I loved that paper. While RC does have it’s uses I miss the look of fiber. and need to get back to it. With all the newer papers being produced does any one find any that resemble the old Portriga. It would take me a long time and a fair amount of money to start checking them all myself.

If there is, I haven't found it yet

While there are plenty of nice papers out there, none have the same look /feel/tonal response as the old fashioned cadmium rich papers.

I still long for the richness of tonality that particularly the old Agfa papers could give.

I think people mean different things when they say the old portriga. In the mid 1980s when they stopped using the Cadmium is one time. I remember complaining of the loss of quality to an older photographer then and he said that Agfa went to poop in the 1970s. People now lament the loss of MCC and probably the loss of the Portriga from 1995.

In any case a paper you might try is the new Reformulated Oriental WT VCFB.
