In older system there was option for viewing all threads started by a member (as well as own threads).

I could not find it now. All I can see it post and activity.

Good to see APUG back. Thanks a lot, Sean and others who are helping behind the screen.

Bookmark related (bug): As you said before, previous bookmarks don't work. Some of them were not standard bookmarks as I had to manually tried to create them - perhaps they were readily but I couldn't find under the previous system. For instance, I have some (c.f. 2 examples below) which used to take me straight to one specific post whilst keeping every others of the same thread under the same window.
(1) (there was a url link here which no longer exists)
(2) (there was a url link here which no longer exists)
Now they prompt me to provide username and password (possibly admin thingy).

Number of posts (feature request): In the previous system I could choose the number of posts per window. If possible, please add that as well.

Search option in the control Panel (feature request): Please add a search option within Control Panel - something similar to Google Chrome's Settings. Finding any specific option then becomes lot easier.

Bests,
Ashfaque

I have made great progress with redirects, after getting my head around it and finding some good scripts it appears all old thread links now redirect to the right place on the new site. Can anyone with the old link redirect issues confirm it's working better? I am still adding more redirects but all old forum thread links should be working now.

Fantastic job, Sean, thank you! I have well over two hundred threads bookmarked and your redirects within the forum are working nicely now. The only things that (obviously) lead to 404 Errors are links to Portfolios, Gallery and Articles i.e: (there was a url link here which no longer exists) (Link to the How To Articles), (there was a url link here which no longer exists) (Link to a specific Gallery image) and (there was a url link here which no longer exists) (APUG's Portfolios)

Within the standard forum, however, even threads I bookmarked as an "Archived" page re-directed perfectly. Thank you so much for all of your incredibly hard work!

Good to know Molli, should be able to sort out gallery soon and portfolios when they are back

Minor annoyance is that the quick reply box at bottom of posts has your own avatar to the left of it. I keep thinking its something I've already posted and scroll down to see what it is and find its the reply box and not a post. Could just be me but is the avaatar really required to left of the reply box?

I'll look at removing it and widening the quick reply box..

Nice job, Sean! The new APUG is running as smooth as butter for me.

Since I browse these forums primarily on my iPhone, this little big is annoying me: the ads and partners on the bottom of the page are wider than the rest of it. When it loads, it looks like the attached image.

Cheers,
Flavio

For iPhone use, landscape works better for me. Not much pinching or zooming needed. (Just a lot of scrolling)
I'm ok with no Tapatalk, it's a little goofy with another xenforo forum I follow anyway, so ditching it may not be a bad thing (IMHO).

hey sean !

is there a way to adjust who views one's gallery content or photo albums? the old system allowed you to
adjust privacy preferences ( share with everyoene, share with members, share with specific people(contact list) don't share with people on ignore list &c )
with albums and blogs. i i found the content editor under media >> albums >> privacy
does "members" mean subscribers and non subscribers, ( you have to log-into apug ) ignored-too ?

looks great on safari btw !
john

"edit function" works great too

Thanks Sean for your hard work. I'm having a curious problem, it seems I need to double-tap (iPad) a link to get it to go. I didn't have this issue previously, is anyone else experiencing this?

To update my own message, the double tap no longer seems to be an issue. Thanks Sean.

On the Vbulletin system, one could click on the number next to "Replies" on a thread in a subforum listing and it would pop up a list of all the members who had replied in the thread and allow one to then view only their replies in that thread.

Can't see this any more. Might not be possible to do it I suppose on Xen

Thanks Sean.

It works partially. The system now takes us to the thread, but not to the exact post. For example: (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Another Bug/Feat. Request: There used to be another option of viewing a single post from a thread - we'd click on the post number on the right hand side and it would take us to another page containing only that single post. For e.g., (there was a url link here which no longer exists)
Now it doesn't work.

still needs adjusting.. will look into it soon

I discover that there is infact a limit for search results and I guess the default is 200. Infact when going into search and using "threads and posts" tab for just my user name it is rather slow to even return that. I wonder if that will speed up. And I notice the ability to search for older posts is not present on last page there.

However, using the "search everything" tab the 200 results come back plenty fast enough and the find older posts link is on the last page.

Moral of the story being to use the search everything tab for time being even though that seems a tad counter intuitive if you want to search only posts.

Did we lose hover preview with the new site, or has it not been configured yet?
if you mean preview when you hover over post titles then its been removed whilst a selectable option preferece to use it or not is being coded. Watch this space as they say...

Don't know if this is the right spot for my question, but...How do I close my ads in the classifieds when the item is no longer available or sold?

I'd like to second this:

I keep thinking its something I've already posted and scroll down to see what it is and find its the reply box and not a post. Could just be me but is the avaatar really required to left of the reply box?

Also, I use browser tabs a LOT. In the old system, I could click on an image to enlarge it, or middle-click (control-click) to open in a new tab.

The new system still enlarges on a click, but seems to thwart a control-click on the images I've tried so far.
Here is an example:
(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

Which raises another point (though I think I like this one). Control-clicking on a post number used to open just that post in another tab/window. Now it opens the entire thread, but at that post - I actually find it very useful this way, and had wished the old system had done this.

I also really like how the new system by default "collapses" very long quotes, and allows you to expand if you want to read them.

How do I choose forums to ignore when I select "new posts"? My old settings have been lost. I see the dropdown for "Forums ignored" but I see no way to select the forums that the dropdown action will apply to.

Edit: Nevermind. I found it that I have to go to the lower right on the main page of the forum I want to ignore. Kinda tedious but it works

Thank you, Sean! Love the look - monochrome/light grey.
(I was worried you might introduce a blue and orange colour scheme.)

I really am bummed out from the loss of tapatalk functionality. I kept checking on my phone for this site to be back up only to receive a email reply from a member before I realized I needed to check on the actual web site only to find in this thread tapatalk is disabled

The majority of my site use was through tapatalk along with other forums like rangefinder forum and large format photography forum. I rarely check through my actual desktop. I'm actually writing this now through mobile safari. Any possibility of brining this feature back or through another forum management app? Thanks again.

The "Sticky" threads seem to be still behaving as "Sticky" threads in that they stay at the top of the sub-forum index, but they are no longer marked as such. This means that if you go to something like the B&White: Film, Paper and Chemistry sub-forum you may assume that there are no threads with new posts unless you scroll down a considerable distance.

The old Profile information included an email address for those who wanted to give one. Is that gone in the new system? If it is still there, it would help to indicate that none has been provided by the member.

And with respect to Tapatalk, is there any way to notify members that rely on Tapatalk that it no longer works with APUG? I've seen a couple of references to people who didn't realize that APUG was back because they were using Tapatalk.

In the galleries, while viewing a certain users uploads, clicking next does not go to the next one from that user, but to the next one in that particular gallery.

The "Sticky" threads ... are no longer marked as such. .

There's a little "pushpin" icon that indicates sticky status. It's obviously not as obvious as the previous incarnation

The feature of the old system to isolate a single post (by clicking on its post number and then downloading it (as htm/mht file) is lacking.

In a even older version even the thread title appeared as file header.
