You all know the Ilford washing method, right?
How would you adjust it to work with a Jobo rotary processors?

I have a CPP-2 and I have tried the Jobo siphon spray thingie to force water from the tap for five-ten minutes but also have tried a variant of the Ilford method by filling the tank with distilled water, letting it run on P for five minutes, change water and repeat five times.

Also, after the fixer, I do the distilled water wash twice and then two minutes in Kodak Hypo Clear.

I suspect the best thing for the films sake (assuming it's sheet film) is to take it out of the tank to wash it so the back of the film gets a good wash on the back side too. Same for prints. As for reels, your Ilford method is spot on.

Dear Ari,

I do one wash after the fix, a few minutes in Hypo Clearing Agent, then 5 or 6 washes of various times. I just let the processor run and I wander back every now and then and change the water. So far so good, but I have never actually tested for residual fixer and I've only used Jobo tanks for 6 or 7 (well, maybe 8) years.

I do the five changes of water thing too. I just do a quick 1st run of about 30 seconds to clear the bulk of the fixer out and then five more changes every 3 mins. I finish by taking the tank off the Jobo and filling the tank with distilled water with a drop of wetting agent for another 3 mins before hanging to dry.
