Hello,
I must be crazy, but count me in

About the battery problem Rachel is relating, I'm afraid it gone global, we got also some regulations about shipping Lithium battery here in France.
So, if we want to stay on the safe side, the camera should be shipped without battery. And it's mean that the said camera retains film current position even without battery for a long time...
Best regards,

Raphael

Maybe a manual wind camera is a good idea then, so no Mju.

I'll figure something out, but thanks for reminding us on this!

Hi all!

Not too many people have replied, so the list is currently:

locutus (Finland)
macfred (Germany)
Toro_mike (USA / Colorado)
mooseontheloose (Japan / Tokyo)
NedL (USA / California)

36 / 5 = 7 shots per participant?

I'm sure we can get more people!

Bump Bump Bump!

Did we mention Raphael from France / Europe ? (see post #101)

Hi all!

Sorry, i have been sick for a couple of weeks. All good now and i scored a camera for this round.

For the camera i ended up getting a Konica Pop, fixed focus 35mm camera, super plasticy and takes AA batteries.

Purchased camera: https://kamerastore.com/product/konica-pop-black/

I decided to go for this as it, weighs nothing (cheap shipping!) common batteries everyone has, and little to go wrong or break.

For the list of participants, and a suggested route:

locutus (Europe / Finland)
macfred Europe / Germany)
Raphael (Europe / France)
Wallendo (USA / North Carolina)
Toro_mike (USA / Colorado)
Michael Teresko / (USA / California)
NedL (USA / California)
mooseontheloose (Japan / Tokyo)
-> And then return to me.

Let me know if this is workable.

This would leave each participant with 4 shots, leaving playroom for winding errors.

I'll send out messages to everyone who i dont have the adress from yet over the weekend. The camera was purchased today and likely arrives at my home early next week.

I'll take my pictures the weekend after, so if all goes well can ship to the next participant in 2/3 weeks time.

Thanks locutus, can't wait to start! Although, I guess if I'm the last on the list I'll be waiting for a while... ;-)

Grin, better late then never!

I tried to make a tiny bit of a geographic route, but it does leave you as having to pay for the longest shipping route (Japan->Finland) I hope thats okay to you. Sorry!

No, it's perfect! I always worry about the battery situation, and with me being at the end then I don't have to worry about inconveniencing anybody (except you, I guess). And Japan is far from everyone, not just Finland, but postal shipping is pretty reasonable here, so no worries.

Let it roll!
I'm waiting for this tiny, little Konica Pop. I had a red one a few years ago.
Using ISO 400 negative film one can fool the auto exposure up to 2 stops (+2) for doing backlit photographs or shooting in comporable circumstances.

Nice! Looks like a fun little camera... Thanks for keeping this madhouse going!

Mike

The route looks great to me... no chance of it getting here in July/August when I might be away traveling. Maybe with fewer participants we can complete this round in less than 5 years

Requests for shipping adress information has been sent out to those of you i didn't have yet!

Check your conversation inboxes!

I'll pick up the camera from the post office tomorrow and give it a check over, but its from a reputable dealer so it should be OK.

Say hi to our friend for this adventure

Just wasted a good roll of Tri-X to test it and everything seems OK!

The only address I'm still missing is Raphael's!

Getting there

....Aaaand i have Raphael's adress too now completing the list!

I'll take my shots over the next couple of weeks and then send off to Macfred.

I shot all my frames, sending the camera to Macfred next week!

Wow, round 11 already? Nice to see that the signup thread started over 2 years ago (continuing the precedent started in round 10, obviously)

Count me in if it's not already too late? (Adelaide, Australia, you gotta have at least one photo from this hemisphere)

Also, I know that there's already a camera picked for this round, but may I add in a batteryless-suggestion for next round of one of these: https://www.photrio.com/forum/threads/what-the-hell-did-i-just-buy.102873/ - 6 years later and I still toss it in my pocket and shoot some random stuff now and then, still a joy to play with and still not dead (not that there's much to die in it)

There is a lot of messages, since the last time I checked :D
Sorry @locutus for haven't reacted promptly, I was actually in the middle of my USA trip when you launched the thing
So, where are we now, Camera 11 is arrived to @macfred 's home ?

Regards,

Raphael
