The Epson V850 directions regarding the emulsion side. Noob confusion.

Good morning.
The V850 directions state to place the film Strip into the negative tray emulsion side (dull side) up when loading into the tray but the tray needs to be turned over when being placed into the scanner leaving the emulsion side down. And the emulsion side should be up!
Can anyone please help me out of this confusion?

No, the instructions printed on the holders say to place the negative into the holder emulsion side down, (shiny side up) so that the image is not reversed.

Any edge numbers should be legible and not reversed.

Got it thank you. The end result is that after flipping over and putting the carrier onto the scanner bed the shiny side is face down. Thanks again.
