The Domke f5XC camera bag

I've recently been doing a lot of street shooting and was using a Khaki respirator pack I was issued with in the military many years ago to carry my equipment in to look inconspicuous, because many workmen in Britain take them to work on their shoulders to carry their sandwiches in unfortunately a few days ago our cat got into the cupboard where I kept the bag and peed on it ! and it smells to high heaven luckily it was empty, so I ordered this olive drab Domke bag from Amazon to replace it http://www.tiffen.com/displayproduct.html?tablename=domke&itemnum=700-53D.
I used the bag for the first time yesterday and I can't believe how versatile and useful it is it just looks like a army surplus bag doesn't scream "Mug me" it has a very shallow profile it's only about 41/2" deep and is small enough to manoeuvre around crowded streets and I can fit 2 bodies into it one with a Vivitar Series I 70-210 lens on it and the other body with a 35-70 C/FD Zoom attached pointing downwards, plus a 28mm and a 20MM in the bottom compartment of the bag. I've seen many people posting that the're
looking for a walk around bag that's inconspicuous, well this is it, and although they are expensive in the UK, they cost almost as much in £ as in $
I'm delighted with it.

I'm trying as hard as I can to wear out my second Domke bag. I've had it for 20 years and it's showing no signs of fatigue. They're very well made and versatile, as Benjiboy says.

I just bought the 5xb on advice from friends and I wish I had a hundred of them. What great bags! I wonder if they have one for my 8x10?

This is my first Domke bag and I'm very impressed with the low- tech heavy duty cotton canvas and although I have a lot of bags (mainly Billingham and Lowe pro) I wanted the F5 XC for a specific purpose, I shoot street in some of the most run down parts of town and I'm in my seventies, so I needed something that doesn't look like it contains anything of value the olive drab colour is perfect for my purpose and they are very easy to work out of it looks like an ordinary messenger bag, and although Think Tank Urban Disguise bags are great quality and I almost bought one until my wife pointed out they look like they contain a laptop, anyway I'm a very satisfied customer, so much so I just ordered an Olive Drab Domke F2.

Ben, I removed my domke patch on the flap as well. It makes it look about as generic as they come.

Hi Robert, I've been considering that, it should be fairly easy to do, but on the O.D ones the makers name subdued and in black not in red as on the black bags, I think many photographers in the UK haven't ever heard of Domke as a brand, I doubt if hoodies who are intent on mugging me will. , but still it'll be my luck to find one
