If my memory serves me correctly, I believe Ferrania was manufacturing Ferraniacolor in the 1950s. Is that the same company that you are talking about?.....Regards

As said above, Film Ferrania is "descendant" of the original Ferrania, occupying the former R&D lab building. You are right, they were making a very good colour film.
And everyone in Italy and elsewhere when they wanted to feel like Fellini, they used P30 B&W film in their Ferrania cameras. Ah, la dolce vita!

Yes, it is sad to see these things destroyed. I know how much work went into building, running and maintaining them.
In the mid-50's I watched Ford build the Wixom plant, which became the largest automotive assembly plant in North America. In the 60's I worked there - nearly ten years, as a manufacturing engineer.
I'm retired now (for the second time), but it was hard to watch as they tore that plant down last year. I know it's just a building and machinery, but it becomes part of you.
I'm especially sad for all the employees that put a part of their life into Kodak.

Here's my video of the B-65/69 implosion (and resulting dust cloud) just about 7 years ago. I spent most of my Kodak career in B-65/69. It was a sad day. (... and yes, I had brought a dust mask!)

Some people didn't like working there or were laid off and saw their managers out of work now as well? I've heard that often enough.

People applaud fireworks displays - it's a "show."
Perhaps they saw it as "entertainment," and/or were applauding the efforts of the people who successfully executed their tasks.
